If you are thinking about learning to play the piano, why not book a trial lesson? I am located in Longwell Green - East Bristol, and also travel to west Bath to teach. I offer child and adult lessons and often teach a few members of the same family. Please read on if you would like more details, or contact me to make an enquiry.
I have 12 years of tutoring experience, and can teach on electric or acoustic piano in my own home, or travel to you, according to availability.
I am also able to teach music theory lessons to help you prepare for your exams or simply to understand further what you are learning and playing.
1 hour piano/music theory lesson | £25.00 |
45 minute lesson | £20.00 |
30 minute lesson (under 8s only) | £15.00 |
there is also a £1 or £2 travel charge if I come to your own home. |
I come from a musical family and love to sing and play the piano. I was trained classically and completed graded piano exams through to grade eight, with Trinity, and I completed theory exams through ABRSM, and also training in the United States for further theory and teaching qualification in a mixed arts college in Idaho. I am actually a fine artist by degree, but continue to enjoy a blend of the arts, including dance.
Tutoring Experience: I trained to teach in the States and England, and have been teaching for over 12 years now. I try to adapt the style of teaching according to each pupils needs, interests and ability.
I use some classically based course material, with some blues/jazz/pop and comtemporary added in for interest and fun. You are not required to sit exams but I can by all means take you through them if you so wish, via ABRSM or TRINITY.
Chords & scales will be taught, as I believe chords and scales should be understood relatively early, as well as sight-reading.
Lessons are once a week, and I usually take payment each week, by cash or cheque.
CANCELLATION POLICY - If you cancel a lesson in advance, for whatever reason, 50% of the normal charge will be payable for that week. If I cancel a lesson, there is obviously no charge.
If you cancel a lesson within 24 hours, full payment is due. However if I am able to change the day/time to a mutually convenient slot I will try to do so. If I can't, you will need to pay the full amount.
If you don't show up and fail to inform me, the full amount for that lesson will be due.
